Most definitively, the most disgusting romanticism of pedophilia and suicidal ideation. Like all other reviews have mentioned, the narrative paints the protagonist's groomer father, a rapist of a 16 to girl, as an enlightened key to the Nicole's emotional freedom, by guiding her to the truth, when really there was just a bunch of obsessively kept evidence around his molestation of the pastor's young daughter. There are so many opportunities that display his psycho behavior as philosophical, or endearing, even as far to call it love because he "saw her" while giving speech therapy for her dyslexia. He took advance of her vulnerability from being bullied from a disability, and coveted it. Rachel isn't given a voice, not a single perspective on her experience through this traumatic mess. There are ZERO consequences for Leonard's predation of Rachel, no repercussions of Claire NOT PREPORTING her husband abusing a child, but instead M*RDERS THE CHILD for plot twist shock value. The worst part of this entire game is giving the player the agency to k*ll themselves, as the protagonist in her car at the end. They basically SHOW you how to unalive, walking through every step of turning on the car, ignition, and sitting in the exhaust. Irving and Nicole BOTH commit su*cide in the hopes of "rejoining their loved ones" because Rachel's death was still "giving off light everywhere" and no one needs to explain how completely insane that is. If the emotions triggered from that digital space, translate into actions within real space for someone struggling with suicidal ideation, this is a MASSIVE DANGER. It's a wildly inappropriate way to address these heavy issues and the story aims for pulling on a suspenseful thread to find a truth that no one gets justice for, over condemning the sexual and emotional assault of a 49 year old man against a 16 year old girl.
