Kahlan Marcus

I watched this solely because I saw Peele directed it. After having seen US and Get Out I had a lot of confidence in him to tell an intriguing story. I will say this was an interesting concept and visually I think it was stunning in some instances. However, the dialogue often has very long sequences of silence and some scenes feel so wooden and unnecessarily awkward. I felt very little connection to the characters by the end, and i began to make comparisons with M. Night Shyamalan … not in a good way. I don’t expect every film in a directors catalogue to be a smash hit. But I want to finish the story feeling like at least half of the movie’s potential was realized. It felt like a little more writing could have been done to flesh out the narrative.
