If you have even a little sense of Indianness then you must go and see this wonderful presentation of the synergy of science and emotions. An excellent, clean film based on real events, a story of bravery of Indian scientists. That too is the living story of the creation of indigenous Covid vaccine in India due to the tireless work of scientists including seventy percent women scientists.
Today, we have started to forget so quickly a terrible tragedy of this century which had terrified us for the past few years. In 'The Vaccine War' is shown India's challenging task of manufacturing an indigenous vaccine to deal with the crisis of the Covid virus. The whole process has been so immaculateely enlivened.
The film succeeds in portraying the process of development of the Covaxin vaccine and honoring the dedication of female scientific heroes during the global pandemic.
Film also exposes the nefarious designs of anti-national fake news propagated by certain media which had hatched a conspiracy with the help of toolkits against Indian Covaxin in connivance with multinational pharma companies. Nana Patekar has effectively portrayed the cold but result-oriented personality of the then Director General of ICMR, Dr. Balram Bhargava.
In the film, some aspects of the devastated personal lives of women scientists dedicated to vaccine development have been highlighted in a very poignant and emotion touching manner.
Some people may feel that the film has unnecessarily glorified the Indian government, but the truth is that under the able leadership of the Indian government and especially the Prime Minister, India this war won by our scientists.
Although in the film there is only mention of indirect meetings by the Prime Minister, If his face had also been shown, some people would have been furious. And perhaps this may be the reason why Vivek Agnihotri has been hesitant in doing so.
At the last scene of the film, the entire hall echoed with a thunderous sound, the echo of which is still being heard even at the time of writing this review.
