One of the worst movies I've seen in a while. The way they butchered my favorite science fiction novel is a tragedy. This whole movie was so cringe. The actor playing Paul Atreides was so bad. I was cringing everytime he was on the screen. Every line of dialogue he says with his teeth gritted. Lady Jessica did not act or look the way I imagined she would. The pacing of this movie is mind numbingly bad. 90% of the run time is pictures of cgi environments or cgi ships landing and taking off. I'm serious, most of this movie is just pictures of ships landing and taking off, and establishing shots of cgi environments. Imagine if they spent that time, you know, progressing the story or something. But my biggest criticism is the music. This movie didn't have 1 single second of silence. Not 1 second. No matter what was happening there was AWFUL and INAPPROPRIATE music in the background. And the volume of the music is so high that it often made it hard to understand the dialogue. Honestly, I should have pirated this. I regret paying money to support this.
