Personally don't like the shorts because we don't need the message of, "female characters are strong" shoved down our throats, we already know. The Originals showed us with Leia, the Prequels with Padme, the Sequals with Rey and Rose. Even The Clone Wars and Rebels and even The Freemaker Adventures. Some of the best and my favourite characters are female and most other fans believe so too. So it seems that the only people that don't are the primatives that wanted the show created.
