🙌🏼💙🙌🏼 This. This Film definitely resonates heavily with me as a Gen X. It really rides deep inside the lines of 70’s/80’s Cyberpunk Futurism and …….it’s AMAZING. I wasn’t expecting much but honestly was hoping for something halfway decent. Disney has really for the most part been a huge disappointment for years now but this, this literally rises above the ashes of much of the burnt out husks of long dead franchises that’ve been dragged along endlessly. Honestly I was freaking surprised & amazed at how much I loved this Movie! From the Story weaving soo well into the already incredible universe to the action/fight sequences & crazy fly chase scenes to the special fx & of course Acting. This Director really was playing with fire & easily showed he could wield it well. It was from start to finish a triumph of a Movie for this Series and I loved this. It was High energy, full of Soul & visually stunning from beginning to end. I’m just soo happy it was this freaking good. Oh, and Jodie Turner Smith is a force.

I liked it. It felt small scale & human, like Thunderbirds & DareDevil. Less extreme energy & adrenaline without every moment needing to be the most of the most…that got old in many of the earlier MCU titles. I liked the world they had imagined & loved Vanessa Kirby’s Performance. It was easy to see that this Film was written from a Parents perspective. As well I like the pacing. The Film wasn’t in a hurry to race into action. Though it did rush a bit in the beginning laying out the world. And we could’ve used more character development overall since action wasn’t driving the story. Seeing Galactus was freaking dope! He’s a Comic favourite. It does feel as though he & Silver Surfer were under used by the way the Film ends. I hope there’s a return in some point in the future. Overall, imo it’s better than a lot of mid level stuff the MCU’s put out in recent years that felt half baked & rushed. When that happens you can tell things are being pumped out for the stockholders & not the sake of Good Entertainment & Longevity….but this didn’t feel that way. It was a good film overall & I hope the MCU continues down the path of good story & character development over cash grabs.

Great Cinematography, Action, Music & Acting. That said, the writing was terrible. It seemed like mediocre CBS drama writing. I’m not even sure where to begin it was so bad. At this point in Television History, we’ve moved into Cinematic Story Telling. And the people behind the series knew this because it’s clear they set out to do just that. But whoever was behind the scripts, not all the writers but most, wrote these episodes like bad TV melodramas with plot holes, bad exposition, no reasoning behind dialogue or actions, the beats were off, unrealistic emotional responses …. it was a confusing mess. It was like they got excited when they had some really great moments & thought that was enough to carry the story forward. It wasn’t. Forget that its in a fictional universe for a moment. Its clearly meant to be set with a sense of real human emotion, experiences & responses…which was done horribly. It’s like it was written by College Freshman Screenwriters. I was so frustrated every episode because I really wanted to like it. I’m a huge fan of the Franchise & this just really disappointed me. The actors & behind the scenes team of the show did great. But the writing was so incredibly mediocre. I wish they would’ve just decided to stay with campy action sci fi like the original films or hired better writers who don’t write for TV. People who would write something gounded in reality, with exciting action & beats & human emotion/responses that make actual sense. Not this disappointing, muddled mess.

Disappointing. All flash, no substance. It feels hollow, like the shell of a game. What’s the point of customizing your character so specifically if you as the player can’t actually see them? There’s no real character you’re controlling. Basically you’re a ghost bumping your way thru a beautiful world that you can’t really interact with. 1st person games, IMO, are more conducive to online VS’s games like COD since 1st person is faux 3D. Usually story driven, character based games are so much more engaging when in 3rd person. You interact more with the surrounding world. You get to see your character move & shake thru out. With this game as is, I was literally bored. It was an empty shell of a game with pretty lights. At least Skyrim gave you the choice to be in 1st or 3rd person.
