I just finished watching this movie and what can I say? I came into the movie thinking that it was an amazing story concept. The beginning of the movie was actually pretty great. I thought that the symbolism at the beginning of the movie was going to play out to be the whole moral of the story. But it had nothing to do with the plot line. At all. I think the pace of the movie was good until Tom started to dig his hole. Then it started to get dragged out and the visuals on screen were non imaginative. I feel as though this movie had the potential to be great and have a really interesting script and story line. But it just didn’t. I had predicted the ending by the time the boy was first shown. When the mysterious book showed up I finally woke up and was like “yes finally there is a plot” but that book turned out to have no use and it was just there. I wish that the couple had been more imaginative and I wish they had shown us a montage of them trying to find their way out, but they tried lest than 5 times to find a way out. I wish they had gone more in dept of the law of the place and people running the place and the people that had been there previously, because honestly I have so many questions about what I just watched. I felt as though I was watching a really long music video or a student film where the student went over their time limit by a long way. As I said this movie had potential but to me I feel as thought the writers got lazy half way through writing and decided to just finish it and even them themselves don’t know what is happening. Was a let down.
