Fantasia and Tariji P Henderson performance goes without saying the others were magical as well. Choreography was phenomenal. I knew what type of movie this was a musical loosely based on the screen play with infusion parts of the book. I love musicals and I love the Color Purple. Why didn't I totally love this movie 2 reasons: 1- the sound engineer was done poorly, certain musical routines should have had me out my seat 2-The parts of the screenplay that was hard to digest but is a big part of black culture was rushed or thrown in. It like eatting my favorite fried bologna sandwich I am not full but I am not hungry as well
