Lots of random life stories and not enough solid mental health advice. I struggle so badly with self confidence, and I couldn't relate to this book at all. If you struggle with loneliness, trauma, or mental health issues, this book isn't for you. This book is so full of Sincero's life stories and anecdotes that it ought to be in the autobiography section, not mental health. Sincero constantly mentions friends and fun experiences and traveling (many things people with mental health issues dont experience) that you quesrion if she ever truly struggled with self-confidence. The introduction even states the author had "holier-than-thou ism", meaning there wasn't low self confidence to begin with in her life.
The book is extremely surface-level when it does talk about mental health, and all the useful information in this book could be probably found in a wikihow article.
I thought this would help me learn to love myself and boost my confidence, instead it rather says "love yourself" "and just be confident". No wonder I got it from ebay for 6 dollars.
