Way too overhyped. I watched it twice just to make sure this review was accurate. Don't get me wrong, the first movie was a masterpiece. I would rank it up there as one of the best movies. But this sequel not only ends with a cliffhanger but made two completely different stories into one. The first story was with the whole spider verse idea and then the spot idea. Both stories seem really cool to watch but instead, they tried combining them and it was just a mess. Not to mention when they were in the spider verse everything was hard for the eyes. Most different dimensions moved at different frame rates which made it hard to watch and really focus on what was going on. And for some reason, nobody is addressing the elephant in the room. They didn't include the spider pig. That character was literally the character keeping the jokes flowing in the first movie. But instead, all of the jokes didn't land correctly and were just awkward. Me and the boys thought it was a joke at first when it was said to be continued. I would still recommend seeing it because it's what everyone is talking about right now. I don't belive the amount of 5-star reviews on the trash but that's just my opinion I guess.
