One of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. Typically French cinematographic genius, set against the backdrop of the magnificent Alpine countryside. Characterisation is brilliant, surtout la chienne Belle, who is very appropriately named. Needless to say it has all the components of a tear inducing movie. The relationship between Sebastien and his grandfather is a strong, well developed theme, and both are very convincing in their roles. The soundtrack is equally haunting and beautiful, the title song sung by ZAZ. ( Belle, Extrait du film Belle et Sebastien). Look forward to watching the sequels.
