Stories like this, fact or fiction, reinforce my appreciation and thanks for the privileged life I have led. At 74, I have never feared for my life, never had to fight another person, never gone to bed hungry, always had disease and injury attended to promptly, had effective schools for myself and my children, and have always had clean bathrooms and clean water. I am aware and so grateful that others, including people like the Norwegian merchant seamen portrayed in this film, have helped make my life possible.
