The first three seasons of what has turned out to be a groundbreaking show has come apart a little bit at the seams in season 4. Too many new characters introduced -many of the scenes feel rushed -and the overt focus on trans and gay characters does not give the solid cast time enough to develop their backstories. (Making it seem as though these additional characters were only to boost ratings rather than tell new and important stories in what has been a beautifully open and well written program up to now.) It will be sad to say goodbye to these characters -but perhaps a film in the near future?
