This is an extremely enjoyable watch - albeit a bit quirky, that in some respects reminds me of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. There are two really outstanding elements to this film, both musically related. First, it was a "live sing", not with the soundtrack dubbed over in post-production. The cast all turn in surprising performances, but especially Nicole and Ewan. The second superb thing is rhe soundtrack itself. Almost all the numbers are modern pieces, set against the backdrop and costumery of turn-of-1900 Paris...and done in different styles than the originals with some VERY clever mashups as well.
