This is an incredible game! Absolutely check this out if you are a fan of Super Monkey Ball. It has the quality of the first two games with enough of its own fresh ideas to make it worth playing. Even if you are unfamiliar with Super Monkey Ball, this is an absolute blast with a wealth of content! This is the game I've been wanting Sega to make for nearly two decades, and it was absolutely worth the wait.

The first half is alright, but after that it just feels extremely boring. As a fan of the book, I knew its magic wouldn’t be captured here but it goes beyond that. Characters who were unique and complex in the book are stripped down to basic one-note characters, some (Stan specifically) not having any resemblance to his book counterpart at all. If you’re a fan of the book, you’re far better off watching the 2017 version that understands it can’t fit everything from the book and instead goes for a similar tone. If you haven’t read the book you’ll still likely be bored out of your mind by the end. The one truly good part of the miniseries is Tim Curry’s portrayal of Pennywise, but you’re probably better off just watching a clip compilation on YouTube of the three minutes of screen time he actually has.

Halloween II is an underrated slasher flick with some neat ideas and some missteps. First off, the classic theme was completely butchered and now sounds like something out of a bootleg Atari game, completely taking away from any suspense every time it plays. Secondly, Michael’s mask looks goofy and less threatening than in the original. If you get past this though, you’ll find a good slasher with some lovely campy acting and kills while deviating from the standard dumb teen setup. There’s an interesting twist that I’m sure most people know by now, and a satisfying ending. A good watch for fans of the original.

As a fan of the novel, I enjoyed this the same way one might would enjoy a crash course lesson as opposed to an in depth and intense one. While I prefer the novel, I understand how difficult it is to do it justice in a movie. This is heavily due to the amount of the novel which takes place within the character’s minds and revolves around general unexpressed feeling. By the end you feel like you have grown alongside the characters in the novel. The movie is essentially a condensed version of the book’s child segments and for what it is, it’s definitely great. It’s no replacement for the novel, but thrilling and heartful in It’s own right.

Stephen King’s It is an outstanding novel, with some of the best characters in any novel along with several interesting twists and revelations. Other than one infamously odd part that I’m sure most people have heard of, along with occasional minor pacing issues, It is an incredible experience that no movie or miniseries could ever quite live up to. I would compare It to a big insanely delicious steak with a little bit of fat on it; the good part is just so dang good that afterwards, one will completely forget that the fat was ever there. 9.5/10.
