Apostasy is a gut wrenching thought provoking masterpiece of a film which could only have been done by someone on the receiving end of the the Watchtower, a Bible Tract Society based in Pennslylvania USA which controls the Cult following of Jehovahs Witnesses throughout the world with breathtaking and manipulative brainwashing techniques, some of which are brilliantly shown by directer Daniel Kokotajlo in this film. The revelations of the Cult life endured by this family in the film are just the tip of the iceberg I can assure you from personal experience. With many Jehovahs witnesses suffering from mental illness/anguish,failed Armageddon predictions delaying there promised paradise on earth,wanting to break free but unable to bear the suffering of the Cult's shunning policies.This together with their well publicised ring fencing at hospital beds to prevent blood transfusions of Cult members who also are also bombarded with peer pressure techniques sadly many of them children and young mothers at childbirth.The shielding of child molesters in their ranks make their claim of being God's only true religion laughable! Sadly, practising Jehovahs Witnesses are the victims with the ruling body of eight deluded monsters based in Pennslyvania responsible for their plight. I thoroughly recommend this film but be warned it will leave you shocked and angry.
