Kay, I completely understand why the audience gave Halloween Ends such negative reviews. I was already discouraged before going into the theater because of that, but I actually liked it! It was creative, different, and it gave us the closure we all needed at the end. HOWEVER, the first hour of the movie was like a confused Drama. This weird plot was kind of all over the place, in a way. I feel that absolutely no one wanted to see this movie drift off into its own little drama story the way it did, but I think it helped lead us to that final scene.
Spoiler Alert below:
Did the director NEED to direct it this way? No. He could have done what we all wanted to see: Michael going on one LAST BRUTAL Killing Spree! We didn’t need Michael’s little helper. That’s not what I wanted, BUT He DID kill savagely (which was AWESOME)! What I WANTED to see is this: That part when Michael’s helper gets Michael to kill the cop… Michael should have killed him, too, RISING WITH EVIL & killing everything in his path—leading to him finding Laurie! THEN.. Michael killing Laurie (just how he was about to before her niece stopped him) & Laurie’s niece killing Michael! THE PERFECT ENDING.
But whatever.
