Movies that have messages and mimics the present political climate makes certain people uncomfortable and annoys their comfortable ignorance. Especially movies or topics that puts a mirror to historic racism and privilege. Hence the backlash. Some people just want comfortable entertainment. People have become so relaxed and don’t want to think while watching a film. Don’t want to look for symbolisms or process what is actually being said by the film. Truth hurts and looks bad, cause it is BAD. To those people, there are a lot of kids films and rewritten war films at the cinema. To everyone else, enjoy the film! Well written with stellar performances.
