The Old Guard 2 completely misses what made the first film work. Where the original balanced melancholy with sharp writing and gripping action, this sequel just feels hollow. The tone is still somber, but now it lacks purpose or emotional weight. The story feels both rushed and endlessly dragging — scenes stretch on without tension or payoff. It drags. And drags. And drags. The cast does what they can, but the dialogue is flat and the writing is a mess. There’s no spark, no cohesion, and no sense that anyone involved understood what made the first film resonate. A frustrating follow-up that squanders potential.

Surprisingly good fun show. A very good start. At first I was just looking for a show to kill time in background, but ended up really liking it it’s got action and good humor. Thank goodness it didn’t end up on SYFY. They would have cut the budget and cancelled. The show is Dark Matter mixed with KillJoys. However, much better than Killjoys. Potential to be as good as Dark Matter. Good cast. They gel well together. The Dark noir feel makes the show quite intriguing. I bet anime fanatics will compare and knock the show. I watched as a sci-FI enthusiast looking for a quality show to watch until Strange New Worlds premieres. I also enjoyed the new Dune reboot. Times are looking good for science fiction after horrible Discovery Season 3. Season 4 not off too good start either.

After a fantastic season 2, the show has jumped the shark. Season 3 had a horrible premise and solution to disappearance of dilithium crystals. Poor writing and over acting. Also, getting a bit too preachy. I do have great optimism for Strange new Worlds bringing back why I love Star Trek. Get a message of hope without being overly politically correct. The true fans of Roddenberry vision don’t need to be preached to with over compensated dialogues of injustice. Let the audience make the revelations. Season 4 is off to a bad start too. Thank goodness the production quality makes the show visually stunning. That alone makes this show watchable. If I didn’t have a top of the line 75 inch screen, Sony Atmos TV, I would not even care to watch. The show may be unwatchable in a screen smaller than 50 inch. The scripts and story lines need work. May explain lack of recognition from the industry, few Emmy nominations; except, well you guessed it, make up and visual effects.

Folks. I don’t get it. It’s slow, boring, and very predictable. Terrible writing. The acting and visuals are worthy of a star. High production value. I gave up watching every week after 3rd episode. Maybe better to binge watch. To be honest very few shows deserve to be watched weekly these days or a preference of mine. In any case, it didn’t help. I don’t understand how anyone says this is best Star Wars series by Disney+. I guess weed was becoming legal in many states. These fan boys are high. At least better than some Marvel spin-offs. That’s a whole other mess. Maybe writers strike is what the entertainment industry needed. These writers knew their livelihood was in jeopardy with this trash. Better get money fast or they will be waiting tables until they get to retire at 80.
