6/5 stars.
After reading this book, all I have to say is "wow". Every line of this book drew me to it, and every word made me want it to never end. 'Flip' is a marvellous and exciting page-turner with an extremely fast-paced plot that makes you thirst for more.
A few minutes into reading this, I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down easily; and sure enough, I finished 'Flip' in a few days, despite me having to study for my term finals (which is, admittedly, a bit irresponsible). It's now one of my favourite novels, if not my favourite, and I really admire its action-filled plot. There were definitely many parts of the book that kept me on the edge of my seat, and in almost every situation that Flip was thrown in, I imagined myself in his shoes.
Martyn Bedford approached this book with a cliche and over-used idea for a story, waking up in someone else's body; but the main characters introduced in the story are intriguing and powerfully compelling, and the ways that the 'switcheroo' affected Flip's actions and mental state are gripping and surreal. I couldn't stop thinking of what I would do if I were in Flip's place, and I'd probably go bonkers if I'm being honest.
Everything about this book made me absolutely lose my marbles! Martyn Bedford could win a battle against J.K.Rowling any day. If you're into stimulating mental rollercoaster rides or thrillers that make your chest overflow and burst with emotions, then this story is, without a shred of doubt, THE one for you. Don't hesitate to peek into the pages of this captivating masterpiece, because you won't regret it.
