Such a good movie.
Relies more on build up and pay off rather than cheap jumpscares, and I love it for that. Some parts can get a bit intense and gory if you're not into that kinda thing, but they're quick and don't overstay their welcome.
I didn't feel any characters fell into the common "bad for the sake of being bad, so it's ok for them to die later" trope. They all felt like real people instead of plot vehicles. The dialogue felt so natural at points; Some parts where they were messing around felt like stuff I'd hear my Aussie mates throw at each other, got some laughs out of us.
And the ending!! Sometimes in horror movies you can get lukewarm endings where everyone dies and it feels empty, or endings where everyone survives so the horror feels anti climatic. But Talk to me had an ending that felt fair to me, wraps it up nicely and comes around full circle. What a good note to leave on.
Amazed that this is the duo's first movie, to be honest.
