Kim Laking

This was an amazing movie, with all four of the main characters really bringing their A games. Benedict Cumberbatch's Phil was flawlessly realized. The scene where he was playing with the scarf was both moving and erotic and somehow made the character more dimensional and sympathetic. I love movies that don't spell everything out but instead leave you to reach your own conclusions and interpretation, and this movie was just such a gem. Awards material in many categories, undoubtedly!

I am an avid ( make that rabid) fan of Vanessa Redgrave. If her name is attached to a movie, I'm watching! Christophe Waltz is always excellent but this feels like other characters he has played, unfortunately: arrogant, scheming, sociopathic. The plot feels trite, pedantic and run of the mill. To summarize: brilliant actors, lackluster screenplay.
