I do believe this show, like so much other T.V is a bunch of staged drama, but seeing the makeovers make it interesting. I just watched an episode with 3 brother owners in a New York bar, where John belittled them way to much and the profanity was like every other word. No necessary to get the point across. I realize he is dramatic, but this was a real turn off.
