After a plethora (fugg, what a word), I enjoyed this film. The cunning, calculating, Spader character, William Ashbury, caught in his own trap, was an effective and unexpected last minute twist.
James Spader is just that good at convincing his audience he cannot be destroyed. Aidan Quinn and Peter Coyote used just the right tone, believable and supportive, moving the story along without grandstanding.
Matthew Davis, with his handsome, boyish good looks, could do no wrong, drawing the viewers empathy.
All in all, while it's not Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, or Red Sparrow, it's entertaining...and worth a look.
