Note: The game takes place in
between movies 2 & 3. Once I read that, the storyline made sense.
Edit#2 for some reason I had to manually update the game. Everything I whinged about has been fixed. I didn't notice any bugs after that, and even bought a dlc for it. It turned out to be quite an enjoyable, fun, nostalgic game to play. Bringing back many memories from my childhood. I even see it has a New Game plus. Which I'll start on shortly. I recommend this game to all Robocop, and FPS fans. That update saved the game, even though you can tell they were on a smaller budget, Teyon made it work. Can't wait to see what their Terminator game is like! They've either made the game for the fans, and put a lot of research into it, or they are fans of the franchise too. Turned out to be a great game!
Edit#1 picking up weapons is buggy too. AFL 23' could've been a great game too, but that was released before being finished. I'm starting to feel the same anger/frustration at this game too. Sometimes it will auto-aim others it doesn't. Basic, stuff like that. Frustrating, especially to find out that the same studio made the latest Terminator game too. So I now doubt whether I'll bother will that or not.
Original: So far I'm only at the 2nd mission/level, hence the two stars (to be fair). Hopefully I will have to edit this once I'm finished. But the fact that people play on "easy" so they "can enjoy the story" (developers own words), but enemies re-animate, the auto save and no option for manual saving sucks. For example; if you get that first hostage killed in the first level, the closest save is the very beginning of the game, some 15mins-25mins backward, which means recollecting everything and reshooting everything over again.
I have no idea how many of these occur, major parts of the game with no saved game close by where you'll need to restart the level/the campaign (×3 so far for me) because i found out a hostage died 10mins-15mins in to the 2nd level (cop-shop). Not too mention the aiming on a controller (Xbox Series-X) will sometimes just lock on to an enemies chest making the weapon unmovable forcing you to unload half a clip (25 rounds) to drop an enemy.
Robocop/Terminator/Rambo and all 1,200 Missing in Action movies were my "baby Einstein". I had such excitement for it. Now, whilst writing this, I'm wondering if I should just wipe it off and get the latest Terminator game. Save my childhood memories where my sister and I would play 'Terminator vs Robocop' long before that actual game came out.
Makes you wonder whether or not the developer wanted to make more Robocop memories, or further the franchise net worth $$$.
