2 episodes in it's not bad, the main character kid is a weak actor (basically jayden smith from karate kid level of acting, basically the same person), and looks like a DEI hire. The main girl is actually a great actor and looks to have some depth in her character, the elephant kid is the typical cautious/ nerdy supporting archetype with comedic relief but done in a unique way, and the techie daughter of lamar from star trek seems like an interesting character even though we don't know much about her backstory yet.
The story overall seems fun lighthearted adventure aimed towards a younger audience but something the parents can enjoy at the same time as it has 80's nostalgic Spielberg vibes to it.
The soundtrack is kinda weak, I think it's one area they can definately improve on as it doesn't stand out at all unlike other great star wars shows/movies (the best being the original trilogy and mandalorian) it's almost as if they started ignoring the music completely as it's really bland/basic sampling types you would find on a free licensing site, pretty sure even AI could create better music, idk, maybe that's what they used, as it sounds similar to star wars but shallow and basic.
I still gave it 4 stars because the strength in the supporting cast, lack of toxic political idealogy (so far, 2 episodes in but really don't trust disney) and fun story outweigh the cons of bad music and weak main character.
