I won't say I loved this movie because, frankly, it's not my typical genre. I watched it out of my fandom for Cage and Avgeropoulos. I give it a 5-star rating, though, because I feel like way too many people have been spoiled with CG graphics over the last several years, and have come to expect it.
This movie, right out of the gate, was clearly intended to be more of a "live action" comic strip. Look at the subtitles. Look at the cut scenes. That's why it has all of the "odd" camera angles. It's so very obvious. I enjoyed it as I watched from that perspective. If someone went back and animated this movie, everyone would love it, because they wouldn't have to look so hard to see what its intentions are.
People have become far too reliant on the film industry to fill in all of the blanks for them because it's gotten so good at doing that for them. Use some imagination people. Just because you couldn't/didn't, doesn't make this a terrible movie.
