The movie failed to portray a loving and caring family where Jaime gets inspired on, they instead were turned into this unnecessarily over the top, borderline goofy in an annoying way. Instead of progressively developing the characters of each family member and their values, the movie goers are constantly shoved down their throats tiredlessly with in-your-face, cheesy cuts of the family portrayal in between every scene. Okay we know Jaimes loves his family and the family members are quirky, but we don't need to be bombarded with the message. The movie pacing and plot are full of flaws and too abrupt, it fails to make any turn of event meaningful. The humor started off fine just as expected of James Gunn, however it quickly become irritating with forced and over the top scenario. Overall it was a bland and generic superhero movie, which would have been okay if it didn't turn into a rushed and annoying mess.
