I’ve been looking forward to watching this since I heard they were making a movie. As a teen, I read the book and it is my favorite By Sarah Dessen. It’s a great story, about a girl coming out of her shell, accepting that her mother’s opinion isn’t her own, while she falls for this boy dealing with finding himself after loss. In away it’s probably my love for the book that gave this movie a low rating, but I feel like they cut things out for no reason. In my opinion the book had more character depth. Maybe they didn’t want it to be dark, but they missed out on telling a great story. I feel that some of the responses didn’t make sense without having read the book. If you haven’t read the book, it’s worth a read!
