Why does any movie that depicts the more brutal, selfish, and wicked ways of slavery always recieve such high reviews. Why do we feel like this part of the past always has to be relived through film? It's hard enough being black and in America with all the injustices that still plague us, but to relive such horrific tales on screen make it even worse. If the shoe was on the other foot, these films would be nonexistent but because it happened to us, it's call astonishing, breathtaking, 4.7 rating, etc. Trust me, if the shoe was on the other foot, the movie would have been boycotted long before it made it to the big screen! Couldn't even watch the whole movie. Too sad how Caucasian treated blacks. 😢
