I love this show. (Possible spoilers included)
It really gave me the thought of if our community is really even a community, because Ray Shoesmith takes the law into his own hands which (considering his profession) I loved.
It makes a point that the laws go to easy on people such as child traffickers and other folks that use it to their advantage to boost a narrative or view when in reality we aren't getting the whole truth.
The main reason I love this show is because it is like The Punisher, a so called 'anti-hero'. To which he may be an 'anti-hero' but he has likeable qualities which society lacks in certain departments such as towards the child traffickers. I may not understand the full message but there are definitely parts that I would support.
I also want to add that I like how the dialogue is, it's just so human and realistic compared to some snarky Hollywood conversation, it is just human.
Which follows back onto Ray becoming more in touch with reality, helping his brother Bruce leave the world, to where he sheds a tear as the house burns down. How Ray always was the bigger man when it came to dealing with Britt, you know, being an adult rather than becoming far more disconnected with his own daughter.
Just like the Punisher, Ray has morals, he would never harm a child, in the final season he did not hurt the boy who gave Britt drugs, but only intimidated. He saved Britts friend from traffickers. How he spared Daves life as his wife was going into labour, plus as Ray knew, it was just a job, nothing personal.
To finish up, I loved this show to the core, I was incredibly happy to see what an Australian TV Show would be like. No over the top CGI, perfect dialogue, great casting and perfect emotion. (this is my first movie review, so that's how much this show meant to me)
