It is not easy to respect this production but none of this Director's plays relating to Shakespeare are satisfactory to watch.. This Director and Actor is not an Englishman. As for the Play it is great encapsulation of very early Shakespeare. He wrote only to make a living like Fred Astaire danced to make a buck. The play was very timely to see in late 1590s. The European aspect on English life and continental relations with London is always there. It is a serious mistake to jettison it but Brexiteers seem unlikely to know or be interested in Shakespeare who had a vast understanding of the human condition. He must have travelled a lot observing life's rich tapestry along the way.
