I loved the first movie so much, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I definitely liked it a lot, and would expect a lot more from the sequel, it had so much potential. But they seemed to put no actual effort in it and honestly it is infuriating, it was purely made just for box office money (10 million USD for like 20.3 million afterwards?? MID.) and didn’t care to extend the story of the real Brahms. Or at least show more of his past or how he lived before or after Greta. (spoilers for both films now I guess) Joesph was such a poorly written character like where the hell did he even come from like??? nuh uh did he piece the doll back together. SO MID. I seriously could not care for all the characters in the sequel. And the pacing wasn’t that great, like the burglars at the very start felt so random and just like story plot you’d put in there as a placeholder. Not as the final scene, you know? And for the part I hate the most, THE DOLL’S LAST SECOND LORE. It completely ruins the plot for the first film like it was intended to make the viewers think it was haunted by the real dead Brahms, but it was just the silly Brahms in walls for 20 years. (which I actually liked the plot of) and they say in sequel that its 30 years IS IT 20 OR 30 YEARS CMON LAKESHORE ENTRAINMENT MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND. Anyway the whole ‘possessed doll for decades and decades controlling children’s minds to kill blah blah blah’ plot was pretty boring, and again it RUINS THE ORIGINAL PLOT. It was so underwhelming and disappointing, in my opinion it was as bad as all the scream movie series. and I HATE the whole scream movie series even though I only watched the first one, because it was so bad I didn’t even have to watch the rest of the films to know how bad it was. Anyway, on topic. Despite all this movie’s flaws and cons… The acting was okay, atmosphere was nice, cinematography was good, and effects were alright I guess. 4.3/10 in my book, and the first film was like a 7.5/10 for me.
