Screenplay and Editor deserve exta kudos as much as the Director if not more. Opening scene, father trying to buy a doll for his daughter with wife's endorsement picks up pace when a lorry barges in and kills the mother and daughter! This pace continues till the last with twists and turns, ultimately the climax, unexpected beautifully links the past leaving the audience in tears! Humour laced in this heavy emotional film really makes audience smile and laugh. No cringe whatsoever! Father going to any extent to showcase his love for his daughter, even locking horbs with the mighty safeguard her modesty even at the cost of bringing the roofs down, literally! Nostalgically Drishyam flashes... Police department always on the receiving side for a change has been presented in a positive light! May it inspire the personnel!! While Bharathiraja has been 'wasted' all other characters have done Justice to their roles. VJS with his usual self and realistic performance proves again why he is such a sought afyer star. Jasper in his crown, 50th at that!! Singam Puli mostly seen as a side comic star has transformed into a villain! No wonder he was concerned of how his real wife will treat him after the movie release. Violence at its height! With gruesome killings and deaths ....May be directors are starting to believe Vikram 2, Leo, Jawan were successful because of excessive shootings and violence!
