The incredible pace at which they distorted the personality of every character from the books and rewrote events in such an unnecessary way, is baffling. It’s like the slow burn and nuance and the fragile stoicism of the characters of the books was either never acknowledged, or purposefully sacrificed for no obvious reason. It immediately reveals important information and familiarizes the audience with the mysteries, consequently losing any hook that might keep one interested in the plot. One can only assume that the screenwriters and directors involved in producing this show had no love for the original story.
