An all-encompassing story of the family Tradd. It is one of those tales that is hard to put down and begs you to read one more page. I appreciate the characters, who feel real and who you can "see" as they live their lives. It is one of those books that pops into your mind after you've finished and lets you question what they did after the book ended. I loved this book and I still read it yearly after over 30 years.
