I began this book on a Tuesday night and finished it on a Friday afternoon - meanwhile I had work, evening socials and gym every morning. I couldn’t stop thinking about this novel and I was eager to find a few spare minutes in my days to turn a couple pages. There are very few words that accurately do justice to the character of Evelyn Hugo - and I don’t mean that in a positive or negative way. That’s the point. She is the most complicated and layered character I have ever come across, yet the author somehow makes you completely get her. Evelyn is a lot of things, yet I would spend my days wishing I could be that iconic. What I would give to read this for the first time again. Each chapter is captivating and intricate but so easy to understand once you’re immersed. Do yourself a favour and read it!
