Not a movie I can recommended for everyone, but I understand the perspective that the filmmakers were going for. The acting and immersion are bar-none. The constant sound of the furnace reminds me of the incoming asteroid in Melancholia; A constant dread amongst the ideal home and location for a life and family. If you liked Der Untergang/The Bunker you'll appreciate this movie, it's a perfect looking glass into the perturbed psyche of the Nazi propaganda and nationalism.

It's a classic doomed ship voyage flick, except with no twists or fulfilling ending. I enjoyed the acting and atmosphere, and am an overall sucker for shipman's tale. Dracula's design was actually perfect, classic Nosferatu. Halfway through the story grows stale. You almost go mad at how dumb and easily the crew is picked off by an obvious threat. Of course, it's the doctor who is the last man standing, and the movie ends with him vowing to stop Dracula, I'm sure in a sequel. If you liked this movie but wanted something more, watch Bad Traveling from season 3 of Love Death and Robots. 3 stars just because of ther acting, design, and atmosphere.

Just saw this movie. The twist at the beginning was worth it and the humor is great for kids and adults. I'm actually surprised at how good it is, the dog , cat, and pigeon jokes are top tier.

Although there are some far-fetched plots to the story (i.e. husband's dying twice), Park Chan Wook continues to enthrall us with spectacular cinematography and heart-breaking storylines. This is the antithesis to The Handmaiden, and knowing Mr. Park, I wouldn't doubt it's by coincidence. Few directors can evoke such feelings as he can.

I was gonna vote 2-3 stars, just because of how brutal and atypical the narrative was. I think they pushed boundaries for shock value and modernity in lieu of a more clever way about Ellie's awkwardness or Abby's betrayal; Owen and Mel's deaths...But by the end of it all, there was redemption. I don't know if a trilogy it worth pulling off, at this point they should just tell a different survivors story, perhaps maybe a final cutscene cameo of Ellie/Dina/JJ in some RugRats All-Grown Up way, who knows. All hail Naughty Dog!
