The movie had a twist that was unexpected. It was enjoyable to watch as a netflix movie. Many people throw shade at Mr. Perry because of similiar story lines referring to African American females. However I admire that he depicts issues that may affect woman in the African American community that is not often displayed on film. Mr. Perry seems to have a soft spot for issues that affect African American women and this is not surprising, seeing as though he seems to speak highly of his own mother and the ways in which he watched her struggle. Keep working hard Mr. Perry!
