Birds of Prey is just a fun movie from beginning to end. Unlike Suicide Squad (which is just a poor and horribly edited film) there is no supernatural, or apocalyptic plot. It's a simple crime-mafia, action thriller that is small scale and contained. Margot Robbie has embodied Harley Quinn like no one else and gives her best performance as the Clown Princess of Crime. Funny, violent, amazing action as well with a lot of heart, give this R rated grindhouse esque film the edge and creativity that the superhero genre needed.

This film is a love letter to the 80s slasher films that focused on pure terror. Is the plot deep? No. Is it Oscar worthy? Of course not. But the film sets out to be creepy, violent, and atmospheric and it succeeds. Art the clown is one of the scariest incarnations I've witnessed on screen and gives Pennywise a run for his money. Damien Leone is a director to look out for and I am very excited for Terrifier 2.
