I don’t know what compelled me to watch it after the actual disaster the first movie was. Alas, I’m a glutton for punishment, it would seem. It was TERRIBLE. Not a single redeeming quality. Don’t watch it if you haven’t already

I read the books and thought they were great. I know movies don’t often have every detail (which makes the books better for me, personally) however, I felt they left out too many of the details that gave the characters a connection the viewer can feel. It was all very rushed. The most unfortunate part of the movie for me was how much crazier they made Travis and Abby. Travis was definitely hyperactive and a little crazy in the books, but Abby was more standoffish and closed up than crazy. If you haven’t read the books, you can watch the movie and relatively enjoy it. It’s YA with a little PG-13 thrown in. For me, this was one of the worst movies made from a book, not including the 50 Shades trilogy.
