This movie is best enjoyed with some chemical enhancement and a few friends. It's a hilariously inept piece of filmaking in nearly every way possible, but damn if I didn't have a great time laughing at it with some of my favorite people.
If you are legitimately looking for a thriller, look somewhere else, anywhere else really. The Golden Girls managed to maintain more tension than this. The shark doesn't show up until about an hour in to the film and a good majority of the scenes are repetitive attempts at character building that are poorly written, poorly acted and have a completely flat arc. A character line. At least it's innovative! As for the shark, it's poorly modeled, completely unrealistic and seems committed beyond reason to kill poor Alicia Silverstone. What did she ever do to deserve this?
Terribly hilarious, but an unforgettable viewing experience. Best avoided unless you are interested in watching it ironically.
