Not really into it. I bought the series on dvd off eBay because I’m a Jodelle Ferland fan and I kinda like Stephen king and I liked older shows. I think I finished 3 episodes out of 13, at least all the episodes on the first disc. I don’t think I’m gonna finish watching, mainly because it’s so long. The show is mildly interesting. Old dated bad effects. The characters are interesting, some just annoying (like the wife character). But not interesting enough to hold my attention. Jodelle Ferland is in this but not majorly, nothing special, sadly. Will just google the ending instead of finishing. Might come back if I’m like super bored or something because the show was NOT boring, time flew by watching it.

This is a classic from my childhood. Recently rewatched it as apart of my Anne Hathaway movie binge. Must admit I was pretty bored and couldn’t wait for it to be over, actually I turned it off right after everything was resolved. Julia Andrew’s or whoever the queen was, was pretty boring. The best friend character was annoying. Anne Hathaway upset that she is actually a princess and can rule a country is just ungrateful. How can you refuse such an offer and want to be “normal”? Ugh. Also I know the plot has to plot but the entire premise is silly and unrealistic. Like why does the next queen or king have to be by blood? Maybe I don’t know enough about it but it just seems ridiculous. It’s a good movie for kids though. I remember it was popular and I liked it when it came out but I also didn’t know good movies then. Note if this movie was meant to be funny, it wasn’t. And what happened to her 1960’s mustang convertible? They just abandoned it in the rain with the top down?? What happened to the car? Did I miss something??? And why didn’t she have a drivers license?

Can’t really understand what the characters are saying. I don’t know what a lot of the words mean. I use subtitles and I can only guess what the words mean and I have to read expressions/reactions which kinda sucks. I don’t wanna have to have a dictionary just to watch a movie. Did they really talk like this back then? Surely they could have dumbed it down. I do like a story about a historical woman though so I’m not hating on Jane or the movie or Anne Hathaway. I’m just too dumb to know what some words mean.

Why couldn’t Carol and the girl just be friends? Why did they have to be lovers? This could have been a cute story without the intercourse. Just felt a little perverted. Why? Well Carol was older and the two of them didn’t really talk much or really bond so it’s like, why are they into eachother more than just friends? What do they see in eachother? Why does Carol abandon her daughter to be with this girl???????? I like cate blanchett of course but I could only stomach this movie once because of the sex scene. If I watch this again I’d have to convince myself they are just friends, possibly mother and daughter and skip over that scene!

Why is “Lucinda” the only blck character and is dim witted, selfish, oblivious, rude, and unintentionally evil and unable to see how “obedience” would be a horrible “gift”? Not that I’m complaining but it seems a little ridiculous. The cgi or green screen or animation or effects, whatever you call them, are horrible. The only good scene in this is when Anne Hathaway is about to kill the prince with a knife. It’s intense and dramatic and dark! But the rest is blah and an obvious Cinderella remake. So obvious that it’s annoying! Also ogres, giants, elves, talking snakes….yawn. Too unrealistic for my taste even if this is a child’s fantasy movie. The movie has a nice message but not a fan of the “love” story or the prince or anything but that one scene mentioned earlier. Also horrible narrator guy. And horrible fake singing! Yuck. Also how can a tiny male elf and a giant female giant ever be in a romantic relationship? So many questions about that!

If you don’t think too much about healthy relationships this is a sweet romantic movie if you turn off your brain. But are healthy relationships portrayed here? Why do we see so much of Joey king’s butt and breasts?? Why is this movie showcasing teenagers drinking and having intercourse without consequences?? The only way for teenagers to have fun is to drink? The only way teenagers can be in a relationship is if they have intercourse and make out? This feels like a twist on Twillight where two boys are fighting over a girl but in this one, the boys are brothers. I wouldn’t want my teens watching this movie. It glorifies drinking and intercourse. At times I forget the characters are supposed to be high school age and I feel like they’re young adults! You rarely see the parents being parents. This movie isn’t cute if you really think about it. So if this isn’t for kids, who is this movie for? What adult wants to see so much of Joey king’s butt? Also how does a teenager get a classic 60’s ford mustang v8 convertible or a Harley Davidson? What do their parents do? Where are the parents? And where did the little brother come from, we don’t even learn his name! Honestly I only watched this because I like Joey king but honestly, seeing so much of her body in this made me jealous that my body doesn’t look that good and I’m an adult so imagine how a younger person would feel watching this!

This movie reminds me of the movie “Carol” but with a depressing ending. The end broke my heart. I felt bad for the main character Eileen, her dad was emotionally abusive, maybe sexually at some point, she had no friends and her mom was dead and she was possibly sexually repressed and insecure. I can sympathize with her obsessing over others and wanting friends and then becoming infatuated with Rebecca (Anne Hathaway) and it just hurt me that at the end Eileen is abandoned and used. Sure I wasn’t a fan of Eileen as a character, I still felt for her. I enjoyed the ending, I enjoyed Anne Hathaway’s performance but I felt it could have been better. I wish there had been more scenes between Anne Hathaway’s character and Eileen or just more of Anne’s character. Most of it was slow and it felt like not much really happened. Also too much is shown in regards to Eileen being incredibly horny. Did we really need to know she fantasizes about boys or that she gets hot and bothered seeing couples make out? I liked the movie enough though to buy it on DVD!

Why is the bojack horseman guy acting like a human?? Why is he having intercourse with a human? I stopped watching in the first episode when he was having intercourse with a human. We can’t have nice adult cartoons without inappropriate sex scenes?? I don’t wanna see a sex scenes in a cartoon even if it is for adults! Could have been a cute show if no Jack horseman was an actual horse and acted like a horse and walked on all fours and had hooves and was lucky enough to be able to talk. If you gonna make boJack walk like a human and do all the things a human does, why not just make him a human? Why put a horse head on him at all??

The characters were not developed enough to allow for such an ending. It was disappointing and felt almost gross. And I usually root for the fictional “villains” or “bad guys” but not this time. I just didn’t care about her enough to side with her. Ok so spoilers ahead: 99% of the movie is from Jessica chastain’s character’s point of view. We get to know her and her backstory (her parents died in a car crash) and we feel for her. The audience roots for her. She is a likable main character who just wants to keep her son safe. Next is Anne Hathaway’s character which we don’t really get to know. We certainly don’t know anything about her before her son dies and so that’s the only thing we really learn about her: her son dies and she struggles with it. That’s it. We don’t get to know much more about her to care for her besides feeling sorry for her that she lost her kid. The audience is more so on Jessica’s side especially after Anne Hathaway supposedly kills the grandma, gets Jessica’s son taken to the ER and she kills her husband. She’s just a grieving mother who wants her friend’s son and blames Jessica for not doing more to save her son and so wants to kill her to take away her son. Simple motive but I just didn’t feel I cared. Oh and she couldn’t have more kids but still that doesn’t make me feel anything for her. So at the end when Anne Hathaway kills everyone but Jessica’s son and the pov is suddenly switched from a dead Jessica (which the entire time you’re hoping she survives and kicks Anne’s butt) and to a Anne Hathaway who has gotten away with murder (still not sure how) and is able to have a new son, it almost feels undeserved. Like a lame attempt to shock us. We are so used to the “villain” not winning and though I enjoy when the villain wins, this doesn’t feel right because I didn’t care about or know the villain enough. Perhaps if the story was from Anne’s POV I could have been rooting for her instead. I would have preferred for Anne to have atleast thought she got away with the murders and could have the son and then suddenly be arrested or even a cheesy twist that Jessica survived. Would have loved to see some consequences of for Jessica and Anne to have an epic fight at the end (though they did fight, it was short). The movie lacked really dramatic and intense scenes. Nothing memorable happened. Nothing about this movie makes me wanna watch it again and I bought it on DVD assuming it would be good. I even bought the book to read but found it too boring to finish. Do I recommend watching? Maybe if you don’t have to pay for it. And I love Jessica Chastain but even her performance isn’t worth paying to view it. Sorry.
