While I can understand and respect what the show’s creators were going for, and think they did a good enough job to provide me with something to kill some time, I couldn’t, invest myself in this.. The big issue seemed to be that, from what I could tell, a lot of the show involved subjugated humans fighting for their oppressors, a little too enthusiastically.. There’s an uprising by a group that wanted more rights since their work helped like, 98% of the other species, and in response the oppressor’s army (including the protagonists) kill the rioting species on mass! It’s, hard, to watch so many freedom fighters get slaughtered with so little empathy displayed for Why they are rioting so fiercely in the first place.. The protagonists end up basically. Using a civilian center, and tried for genocide, Soo, what are the show writers hoping I’ll feel when the charges are dropped..?

Frankly, I find it increasingly tiresome.. The animation quality is nice, audio is fine, but the abilities they posses become very repetitive and the villains/antagonists are more one dimensional than most of the background characters. Eg. The princess starts out as a surprise villain, stealing equipment from one of the heroes, and making accusations. Eventually it’s proven in-front of a court that she’s a compulsive liar and her word means nothing. It’s so bad she’s nearly executed for it. Ok, so she should be a non-issue at this point, but she then does the same thing with the other Three heroes, and it’s extremely irksome and unbelievable. Like a dog with rabies that keeps getting readopted and each new owner refuses to recognize that it bit and killed the previous owner. It’s not fun, it’s bad writing. There’s also the weird inclusion of literal slavery! At first it was one person who was needed to help him level up and not betray him, but now there’s a whole gaggle of women/girls, and the slave merchant he works with is still selling slaves! It’s super immoral to work with such a person, but that issue is never even discussed, it’s just hand-waved away because “it’s legal in this country”, which is just the worst excuse. There’s also a literal child that’s fawning over the adult, sneaking into his bed, and the whole experience is, icky.. I imagine a lot of people find the story compelling and fun to watch, but to me it’s like being offered a lot of mediocre beer. Everyone tried it, but I stopped when I saw flies floating in the beer, and now I’m just grossed out that the flies haven’t deterred more people.

One of those movies where the humans don’t act human, and you have to watch someone with world-shatteringly vital information constantly be ignored. It’s beyond frustrating to me, and I know some people find this funny, but I greatly disliked watching this. Dumb reporters, corrupt politicians, etc. The whole thing seemed to be anti-society but makes everyone involved annoying at the same time.. Some people love this stuff, but it just makes me nauseous..

As a console game I imagine it was frustrating to play, but it was a lot of fun on PC! The old critic reviews claim the game struggles with a drop in frame rate, which it did years ago, but it runs perfectly on my current laptop. Although it would have been nice if the game allowed for larger armies, capping it at 90 (some units are worth more than one) ensures an interesting fight at all times, rather than allowing you to simply rely on having more units. The game’s largest flaw (in my opinion) is that air units are often too powerful, since many units can’t fire back at them. This isn’t always a problem, and as a child I didn’t realize this. Some of the hero units hack the overwhelming strength I expect from them, but their unique powers often prove useful. The story was fun, and managed to entertain me, despite some rough edges. To play it he game today you require a free program you can find online that tricks the game into thinking you have XBox Online.

Poorly written, to put it simply, and cheap looking visuals. I’m familiar with this art style, and for the most part it’s tolerable, but it Looks lazy. The real issue is the writing. These kids find the robot, but get their entire village killed, and now we’re supposed to feel bad for them. They keep giving the brother a hard time even though the sister got everyone killed. They kill one of these giant monsters with a standard rocket launcher, which makes the robots pointless, and there’s also a physic child now, even though this is meant to be science fiction. I stopped watched this series. 2 starts because I think people Tried to make this ok, but this feels like a cheap cash grab.
