Watched on netflix for the finale of an amazing series and a very enjoyable, if somewhat addictive, series of books. The work the cast, writers and directors did was great and this film was a worthy ending to a great series. The film continues in the same low budget but very well executed vein as the series. The story line could have had a bit more ravaging and pillaging and focussed on genocidal acts which seem to be more acceptable to modern audiences for some bizarre reason. Also the homosexual part of the story for the king was really silly, not the gay part perse but the way it was done. The motivation of the king's antagonist and the flip of the king from evil brother killing and friend-hanging tirant to a good king of England due to the influence of a homosexual relationship seemed a bit unreal. Writers could have kept the gay subplot but motivated the king more believably. I still liked/loved this film though maybe because the series was so great and it made an unambiguous end to Utred's story. Worth a watch and still great fun like all this series.
