Honest “Honest Review” Review

I wanted to like this... my issue is most episodes have a dialogue of "there were security cameras," "I recorded it on my phone," "we got audio," and the paranormal investigators had set up cameras with "we have footage," but you'll be sadly disappointed if you hope to see any of it. It's okay, but this series could have been so much more with the most basic of inclusions mentioned in the episodes. Hopefully, they'll do better if there is a Season 3, but I doubt it if they leave the actual footage and voice recordings out the witnesses and hotels apparently have. Otherwise, it just looks like local theatre acting and staged with Dan Aykroyd's narration from the comfort of a sound studio.

The viewers who gave this anything higher than 2 stars must've been half cut to do so. Put simply, this movie is shyte. The other two at least had storylines and individually talented actors and dancers. This one only had collectively great dancers who were given less time than the sun during a snow storm. And the chemistry between Tatum and Hayek was lukewarm at best. Way to see out a trilogy with absolutely no grand finale.

Unfortunately this 3 part doco was 1 entire story of how Spencer had betrayed Jenifer with a plethora of grubby pics, messages and sex with other women whilst married to her. The grooming and sexual assault of a female student he taught seemed to get lost and rendered a footnote in every episode next to Jen dumping Spencer 20yrs prior and being a producer in L.A before hooking back up and marrying. This was not the definition of a "documentary." For me, it felt like Rachel, Spencer the pedo's courageous and insightful once student, was used again by two female "producers" for a podcast and 3 bit doco to tell a story of Jen's pain and suffering, but very little emphasis was cast on Rachel as his actual sexual assault victim and now survivor. It contained very little research in regards to Spencer, his childhood and family. Or indeed Rachel, her childhood and family and where she is in her life today. Nor did it dive deep into any cast member other than well... Just Jenifer. It was shameful and I hope Jen "the producer" and her buddy learn from it, absorb a little of Rachel's insightfulness and learn to read the room by ceasing the use of sexual assault victims to further their agenda's and careers as producers in future.
