I preferred this book to others by Nicholas Sparks that I have read, which I found a little superficial.
This one is an easy read, but has enough details and depth to the characters to make them appear as real people. I was surprised by reviewers who said they found the storyline/s boring and that there was too much detail. If you expect a quick superficial read without much substance, this book is not for you.
I liked the way the book was in defined sections as the author moved separately from one character to another, giving us the details of their respective lives. I was engrossed in the storylines of the characters who were initially strangers to each other, as they moved toward the end of the book where their connections were revealed.
I found this story moving and real and found it hard to put down.
Even the descriptions of Arlo the dog were vivid and touched me emotionally.
