Although different from the 80s comic release, I found the series compelling. The sets, actors, direction, and cinematography are excellent. The editing is pretty good. But it's a tough subject to cover in a formulaic way that TV shows have these days. I hope they revamp it to continue foer several seasons, if not on HBO, somewhere please.

Talent was not in short supply but the production, cinematography, editing, technical advisors, and musical score needed salvation. The script writing, main actor, sets, and costumes were all good. The milatry tactics and potrayal of battle was atrocious. With all the great WW2 movies out already, these folks didn't do their homework. They tried to rely on the drama of the situation without paying attention to historical details. It's slow when it should be fast and vice versa. Too bad their wasn't much chemistry past the main actor. It might have been a nice tribute to the veterans of the great war.
