Game's story is faithful to the originals and kept its flaws with it
- Very limited story pokemon to choose from
- Type balancing was still limited, i.e. limited fire, electric types
- Very limited character customization compared to previous games, (XY onward)
- Fixing the Gym Leader's rosters were locked to post-game
- EXP-share cannot be turned off
- You are way overleveled for the story up until the Elite Four
- Pokemon following you block/slow the way often
- TMs are back to single use
- Some paths are too narrow which avoiding jumping over ledges painful
+ No need for HM slaves (Flash is not on this list though)
+ Pokemon PC Boxes are accessible through the start menu
+ Town map guide was good for those that get lost
+ You only need to SEE the Pokemon to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex
In the end, if you never played DP on the NDS, I would give it a try. I played Diamond back in the day and realized had no recollection of my original adventure. After playing Brilliant Diamond over a decade later from the original, I understood why I my teenage brain didn't remember anything.
