Mr Fish

Like others in this review, I'm a huge fan of Ricky's scripted material with the office being the best and everything since being on a downward trajectory. I've never really considered Ricky to be a good stand-up comedian with the same standing and Jimmy Carr or Frankie Boyle although some of his shows have been worth a watch. SuperNature for me though is a really desperate show. Ricky spends so much time explaining what a joke is and why it's okay it's like he's trying to teach and audience who've never seen stand-up how to act. That lesson is then followed by jokes that really are poorly delivered and worse still, not funny. Attacking the woke and cancel culture is great. More of that but please be funny with it. I don't know whether he drinks on stage to help his nerves or to be cool that he can drink and still deliver great lines. But maybe he should try stand-up without drinking so he spends less time laughing at jokes than the audience does. Overall this is a lazy, dreadful attempt at stand-up that just isn't funny.
